I woke up last night with severe pain in my left foot. I tore off my lymphedema wrap and realized I was having a gout attack. Diuretics can exacerbate gout. I took Tylenol and was awake for a few hours. I posted this since I was awake anyway. #ChronicLife #painsomnia #gout #Spoonie #chronicpain

Chuck Derry asked his group of men participating in his program for domestic violence perpetrators what benefits they felt they received. This isn’t even the entire list and I censored out anything kids shouldn’t read. Posted by the sidewalk.

I was reading that a CEO tests new employees like that. Also a job applicant was rude to an older woman he saw in the lobby next door. It was our boss’s mom. ( Back when I worked for an ISP.)

My chalkboard sign and whiteboard addition have been read by many people whether on foot or even from a street sweeping truck. I’m doing a series on #DV now and also post political information. I’m getting a second board and made a dedicated email account. Break through the bubble!

Finally got some sleep in the hospital.

This unintended affect of my pulse ox in the dark amused me.

In response to the Bill Elkus birthday letter to Epstein, where he claims that it’s difficult to tell the difference between hogs and girls in Southeast Iowa, I would suggest he stick to the former.

As a woman born and raised in SE Iowa, I never heard this offensive insult. Blackout drunks?

I have been amused by this, though.

Lots of art, puzzles, word games and other amusements. Definitely adult oriented. I got it for hospital stays but it might not last that long before I finish it.

Video from about an hour ago about a flight from Houston to Miami, man detained by ICE. Please let his family know and pass this on.

Humberto Avilez Flight UA 2105.

A keychain made from a recycled Russian tank from Ukraine. I wanted it because Putin attacked us too.

Came out of the bedroom this morning to discover that Dave had bought me the Pedro Pascal issue of Vanity Fair.

I burst out laughing and he immediately knew what I was reacting to.

Moss Landing California today, July 14, 2025. It was foggy all afternoon (we passed it coming and going on the way to and from a medical appointment). From a distance the tops of the stacks disappeared.

As we drove by Moss Landing, California, I tried to snap photos through the car window. We didn’t have time to stop. I wanted pics of the smoke stacks. On a clear night you can see them across the Bay.

I can’t use the word “happy” this year, obviously. It is noteworthy, though, as a day to focus on the freedom that is the birthright of every human being and dedicate ourselves to making that ideal a reality.

People have had to flee with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Cities have failed to give adequate warnings and roads quickly get clogged with cars. Climate change is challenging us all to be prepared and have good plans in place.

AI is already trying to kill us off.

Seriously, talk to your kids and teens about how dangerous it can be. Also a good time to review bleach and ammonia danger.

I ran across this again today. It always cracks me up and I figured everyone could use a laugh right now.

Just a moment of respite.

Though if we decide to use spices against evil, may I recommend hing?

Privacy was almost nonexistent so time for spicy fun was rare. I also wasn’t dating. Just me and my Wahl.

But depending on an appliance for 🎇 required privacy. If both of my kids were having slumber parties with friends, it was like the 4th of July plus Christmas.

Dave gave me his old Apple Watch after my recent bad fall. He’s working in the garage and he couldn’t hear me. I used an enhanced close up of my eye created by an app called Eyepic.
