Users turn to bots for family counseling, support in leaving abusive partners, or companionship under the isolating weight of suicidal ideation. To be surprised by this suggests a sheltered ignorance about what care access looks like for most.

Foreigners' Law: Government backtracks on restrictions on the reunification of couples with children Regarding recourse to the courts, the Constitutional Court (TC) considered that Article 87.º-B conditioned the use of summons, a legal mechanism used by immigrants to quickly defend their rights in court, and intended to "clearly restrict the application of the general summons regime" in these situations. Now, in the new wording, the Government has eliminated the irreversibility requirement, seen as an obstacle by the TC, and expanded access to summons. Immigrants no longer need to demonstrate that the harm caused by the AIMA's lack of response is irreparable, only that it is serious and immediate.

An Açores base was used to transfer weapons in Reagan's illegal Iran-Contra scandal. The CIA is believed to have been behind a bomb on the plane carrying the Prime & Defense Ministers when it exploded over Lisbon in 1980. The current Defense Minister, then MP Nuno Melo, led the investigation.
In 2004, the 8th parliamentary inquiry into the affair, headed by Christian Democratic Member of Parliament Nuno Melo concluded in its unanimous final report that the incident had been caused by an explosive device on the aircraft. Melo told the Xth enquiry in 2013 to investigate the role of arms sales to Iran and the Army's "Fundo de Defesa do Ultramar" slush fund, saying that da Costa had asked the Army about arms sales to Iran on 2 December 1980, and that on 5 December, the day after his death, the Army had issued an order illegally declaring arms sales to be under its jurisdiction, not the Defence Minister's.[11]

Post from X by Craig Murray @CraigMurrayOrg I write as former Head of Maritime Section of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Alternate Head of UK Delegation to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea Prepcom. 1) The flotilla is on the High Seas and not in Israel's 12 mile territorial sea. Israel has no jurisdiction. 2) The Israeli maritime blockade has been in place for 17 years and is an intrinsic part of the long term occupation found illegal in the advisory opinion 3) It is therefore not a short term measure in time of armed conflict as specified in the San Remo manual 4) In any event the San Remo rules explicitly state that humanitarian supplies may not be blockaded 5) The UN Commission of Inquiry has already determined that Israel is committing genocide. The blockade is plainly a part of the machinery of such genocide. For reasons 1 to 5 the Israeli attack on the flotilla is plainly illegal. 6) On the High Seas, the law applying on each ship is the law of its flag state. An attack by a state military warship on a vessel on the High Seas is an attack on the flag state the vessel attacked. 7) Acts of illegal possession of vessels or abduction of crew on the High Seas should be pursued by each flag state as crimes within their domestic jurisdiction, not only international law. 8) So the Metropolitan Police and DPP have an obligation to investigate and act over the abduction of persons from UK flagged vessels on the High Seas. Note that when this controversial golf course/resort on EU‑protected Natura 2000 sand dunes near Silves received the necessary approvals, Portugal was led by President Aníbal Cavaco Silva and Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho, operating under the PSD‑CDS‑PP coalition government.
The resort promises “the simple luxury of European living” on “the last untouched Atlantic coast in southern Europe”. Its 75-hectare golf course is estimated to consume as much as 800,000 litres of water a day to maintain the greens. Exceptions to development on Natura 2000 land can be granted if there is overriding public interest. The Portuguese authorities approved the resort, which is owned by the US property firm Discovery Land Company, on the grounds of economic benefit.

The remnants from the hurricane were bad enough to cause damage to our unit! Woke up yesterday to find water had leaked through our ceiling overnight (we're on the middle floor), causing damage all the way down to the baseboard. The building owner is sending someone out to look & make repairs soon.
