This is absolutely ridiculous #afcb

I recently learned about 'buzz pollination'. Some flowers release a burst of pollen in response to the buzzing of a bee. Or a toothbrush

There are lots of Jersey Tigers in SE Holes Bay, Poole. I love the startling orange when they take off!

Yep, I respect Lush for showing support

Not sure who these wings belonged to before a peregrine got them. Could it be an avocet?? @dorsetraptors.bsky.social @martinadams1.bsky.social @harbourbirds.bsky.social

The Jersey Tigers are back at Holes Bay, appearing daily in the shrubbery by Poole travelodge. 25 counted this evening!

Even a hummingbird hawk moth needed a rest in today's heat! I caught one taking a very short break at the Scott Arms in Kingston, and who can blame it

There was a hint of noctilucent clouds tonight 😍

Pleased to see the pyramidal orchids at the back of Poole hospital are still hanging on, despite now being on a building site

Any ideas on ID for these feet spotted below the Poole peregrine tower? We're thinking maybe little grebe?? @martinadams1.bsky.social @dorsetraptors.bsky.social @harbourbirds.bsky.social

We saw so many other lovely things at Knepp, including white admirals, purple hairstreaks, damselflies. Have to confess most were spotted by my partner @marikowhyte !

We've had a wonderful few days camping at Knepp. A highlight was this magical moment with a purple emperor (uncropped phone pic!), at the edge of a muddy pond!
June 22, 2025 at 7:56 AM
We arrived at Knepp just in time to see the first purple emperor butterflies. We spotted eight today!

Cooking breakfast at Knepp, lovely!

@dorsetraptors.bsky.social currently a juvenile on the roof of Adsa's goods entrance. Seems ok but not a great place to be because they have lots of netting and an electric fence that I've seen kill a gull. Seems to have a clear route out though @martinadams1.bsky.social

The four little peregrines in Poole look settled in for the night. Quite a bit of noise and flapping going on though
June 13, 2025 at 7:48 PM
One of the Poole peregrines had definitely fledged last night. Not there this morning though @dorsetraptors.bsky.social @martinadams1.bsky.social
June 13, 2025 at 6:56 AM
Yep, on this low RNLI building where they've been before. I suspect there might be another nest on one of the car dealerships along there, but can't confirm
June 11, 2025 at 11:13 AM
All 4 juvenile Poole peregrines spotted up on the roof this evening @dorsetraptors.bsky.social @harbourbirds.bsky.social
June 9, 2025 at 6:03 PM
Just checking up on the Poole peregrines. I can see two juveniles up on the roof. None on any surrounding roofs or balconies. Plenty of gull chicks though, and even some oystercatchers! @dorsetraptors.bsky.social @harbourbirds.bsky.social @martinadams1.bsky.social

Nice job, Wagamama. No half and half stick figures, it's just a loo 👍

Another tiny jumper for the 1950s-themed shops of the local model town.
