John Barnes was my housemate. He died at home. There was a parade that day, June 3, and the funeral home was blocked from our house for awhile. We bathed him and blasted Pat Benatar for him. The woman who made this great double panel is HIV+ and surviving.

This will be catastrophic for Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba and other islands as it moves likely north west toward the Bahamas and Bermuda. In normal times the US would be responding to help. Paper towels won't help when there's 30 - 40 inches of rain.

Most of my family lives in Hilo, Hi; I visited there two weeks ago.
Here's a picture of a frozen whole chicken (!), an 8 oz bag of coffee (also !), new member of the ohana, Princess Roo and me and my beautiful, beloved stepsister of nearly 60 years.
Gas was $4.70 most days.
