I disagree with the end. I don’t think the will to keep fighting is the predominant mood. I hear from ordinary Ukrainians who simply ask when this will all end. Some have relatives already living in “Russia” occupied territories.

Also when the war broke out, trains were free. Europe provided emergency housing. Now, almost no one is helping anymore, and if you want to flee, you have to be able to afford to flee. Plus we all know how hard it is to survive financially in a new town with no job or home.

I wouldn’t dare speak on behalf of people I have never asked, but I can imagine after living for four years next to a war, the idea of living in peace even if it means as citizens of Russia, might now be palpable. I would understand if it was.
