3 races, 36.1 kms, 2 personal bests!

A successful #OttawaRaceWeekend! I proved to myself that I could work through mental barriers and do hard things.

Grateful for the lively spectators & the incredible running community in Ottawa 💛

An absolutely incredible talk by @dupatton.bsky.social! So many implications and tips for engaging with communities and the important of community expertise in our research!
Saturday of ##SOBP2025 starts at 8am(!!) but we're here for exciting talks on AI. Dr. Desmond Patton presents important work on social media and gun violence. Highlights important interactions between virtual and physical neighborhoods and discussing CASM- with caution on potential misuse.

Talk about application opportunities!! What an incredible presentation by Dina Katabi!
#SOBP2025

Finally in this session is Dina Katabi on detecting antidepressant use from nocturnal breathing.

Broad idea: monitor health non-invasively. We're able to detect a lot of information (breathing, sleep, interaction, gait speed) from disruption to wireless signals interpreted by AI

Really inspiring presentation by Edward Chang today at #SOBP2025!
#SOBP2025

Next is Edward Chang, discussing decoding the brain for neuropsychiatric therapies.

Deep brain stimulation for depression. Technology is outdated compared to cardiac pacemakers, does not account for the dynamic nature of the brain

Come check out my poster (#305) on themes of stigma across Canadian subreddits at #SOBP2025! We (@drkimhellemans.bsky.social) used a novel zero-shot learning approach - ask me what that means!!
