The mound was 30mm or so high. Seems like a good way to keep sand blowing along the surface out your home. The mound was spongy and resilient.

How many do you see in a day? Are they passing through in any consistent direction? Are the females releasing pheromones to draw the males? I have so many questions and know very little about tarantulas.

The Nevada native plant society hosted a really interesting presentation on the bee that specializes in death camas. I wish I’d saved it or taken some notes. I remember that bees other than the specialist died when they ate nectar and pollen from death camas.

I can usually get Family and genus visually. If I looked at where I saw the plant the location that would jog my memory. Just the reality of being a passionate fully engaged amateur botanist out there in the wild, but not living with and in my favorite floras all the time.
