I'm just here to lurk and look at cat pics and maybe occasionally post some bad art I make.
watching Wild Wild Country is so maddening because they're both wrong. The shady cult is wrong for being a shady cult, and the town of Antelope is wrong for being xenophobic and narrow-minded. They're both wrong, no one should be taking any sides

Nothing like starting your 30s by crying at work for two days straight because of severe burnout.

I feel like casual racism against Asian Americans has been so normalized in my mind that when I bring up racist experiences from my past and my daily life I'm very casual about it because I've been dealing with it for three decades, but my friends are shocked and outraged at what I've gone through.

I found out last night that my maternal grandma came from a polygamous family from when polygamy was still legal in mainland China, and learning that information made so much of her personality and behavior make sense.

This is a call out post for that boy in high school who made racist comments about Asian people liking Hello Kitty and shamed me into not getting cute things for myself for years. Fuck you Ray, I just bought a light up Hello Kitty make up mirror and it's the best.

Sometimes I feel so frustrated with the lack of action right now from the cis, straight, yt people in my life. Because they can actually protest, raise their voices, and take action without fear of being locked up or deported whereas a lot of BIPOC people, myself included, don't have that luxury.

Keep in mind that the cuts to Medicaid don’t go into effect until late 2026 conveniently after the midterm elections. Do not be fooled. Vote these ghouls out. Show up and VOTE in the midterms.

Being in meetings with corporate leadership genuinely sucks my soul out of body.

And then this shit just came out.

When you’re making over $700k a year, gaining $12k is nothing. It’s a nice vacation, redoing the garage, giving a niece/nephew a car.

When you’re making $23k a year, losing $1600 is “are we paying for food or for the house or for medical bills” territory.
Budzinski: Families making over $700,000 a year will see a boost of $12,000 almost entirely from tax cuts. Shockingly, households making $23,000 a year or less are set to lose about $1600 a year, mostly due to deep cuts to Medicaid and food assistance

At this point it feels like we're just speedrunning towards thr apocalypse. Will there even be a next election to vote in?

I feel so weird looking at art I drew in my teens and realizing that I used to genuinely love drawing but now I can't even do a simple sketch without feeling like my drawings are crap

pride is next week

pride wasn't brought to you by delta air lines, microsoft, coca-cola or even the democratic party. it was brought to you by trans women throwing bricks at cops and lesbians taking care of gay men dying of AIDS during reagan.

do not forget where we came from. now more than ever.

The main thing I've learned from working for a corporation is that capitalism is hell. They'd rather wear out their employees than break a promise to the wealthy shareholders.

"Not all men-" you're right. Paquito the cuddliest cat on the internet would never treat me like that.

Trying hard not to slip into misandry as these men at work continue to test my patience, but I am not the strongest soldier right now.

If anyone wants a thread of all of the ways I've had to rephrase messages and tickets to protect fragile male egos as a woman who works in quality assurance, I would be more than happy to

My favorite thing about being a woman in STEM is hearing about people complain about Affirmative Action and DEI only to then look around and realize that all of the incompetent leadership around me are mediocre white men who could not do my job 🫠

Today's least favorite thing about being a woman in STEM: getting anxiety about whether a person doesn't believe me about a defect ticket I wrote because 1) I'm a woman, 2) I've made some small mistakes before, or 3) because they don't like QA in general.

Watching the 2024 BigBang reunion at MAMA 2024 just made me so nostalgic for 2nd gen Kpop. There were so many bangers from that era.

Obviously he who shall not be named should go rot (still cant believe he's not in jail anymore) but it was nice so nice to see 3Bang.

I should have figured out that I was on the ace spectrum as soon as I found out that I was the only person I knew who irrationally hated the Titantic movie.
