Europe's security is under threat.

As the Defence Committee's report on the UK's contribution to European Security states - we must do more to strengthen Britain's safety. It's time to act now.

#Slough truly is incredible and a national economic engine.

Don’t just take my word; based on @CentreforCities Factbook 2025:

Gross Value Added per hour—1st in the #UK
Core GCSE grades—2nd
Business start-ups—2nd
Average weekly workplace earnings—2nd.

Slough leading the way!🔝

A very sobering and informative visit to #Kyiv with the Defence Committee, as we were able to contextualise and strenghten our grasp on the challenges that #Ukrainians face.

For our continent’s security, vital that the #UK continues supporting #Ukraine against #Russian aggression (1/2).

Grateful to the Prime Minister for his invaluable time for a one-to-one chat about the policies our Government needs to pursue - in the upcoming Budget and more generally - for uplifting our country and obviously what would make a positive difference for my Slough constituents.

Key part of my role as Chair of the Defence Committee is meeting many #defence experts and stakeholders.

Hence a pleasure to take part in Q&A session with Defence Academy Advance Course students, from the UK and around the world, who wanted to know more about our work in #Parliament.

Lack of direct rail between #Heathrow and Slough (onto Wales and the West) is nonsensical and leading to ridiculous routes!

Access to Europe's busiest airport should be efficient and environmentally friendly - why Western Rail Link to Heathrow is a must.

Government states its number one priority is #EconomicGrowth and #infrastructure projects are integral to that.

Government must finally build the Western Rail Link to Heathrow - connecting 20% of #UK population to within one interchange of nation’s main port.

In these uncertain times, crucial that our legislation, like the #NationalSecurity Act and Official Secrets Act, is fit for purpose and makes the #UK more #secure.

We must not let those who wish to harm us and our freedoms escape #justice and #accountability.

#Parliament for 2 years was shockingly kept in the dark by super-injunction seeking to stop exposure of #Afghan #DataLeak.

Goes against #transparency and #FreeSpeech, but thanks to grit of good #journalists, our Defence Select Committee can now help expose truth.

Collapse of cases like the recent #China #espionage case should not be allowed to happen again.

At our Joint Committee on the National Security Strategy hearing, I probed the comprehensiveness of the National Security Act and its ability to help keep us secure.

Proud to be part of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the #ArmedForces, discussing this time about fairer regulations relating to #military compensation.

Those who sacrifice so much for us should be strongly supported.

Anglo-Portuguese alliance dating back to 1372 is oldest diplomatic alliance still in force, hence honour hosting Speaker of #Portugal Parliament and his delegation.

We discussed how to boost🇵🇹🇬🇧ties and #defence coordination, drawing on his experience as former Defence Minister.

I’m determined to deliver for children so they have a better start in life.

On top of other childcare packages, brilliant that Labour government is launching Best Start Family Hubs, with £137,585 allocated to Slough for the opening of a centre by April.

#Afghan Solidarity Campaign believe there have been political motivations behind Government behaviour on the Afghan #DataLeak, rather than protecting people.

Imperative that government decision making is always held to the highest levels of scrutiny, such as by the Defence Committee.

Back-to-back meetings for the Defence Committee across #Australia, including in #Canberra, #Adelaide and #Perth—with Deputy PM, Speaker, Premier, Ministers, industry leaders, experts and others.

Viewed submarine building, examined progress on #AUKUS and seriously strengthened🇬🇧🇦🇺ties.

Conflicting numbers and costs relating to the #Afghan #DataLeak has caused confusion and chaos, with accusations of an ulterior agenda.

We must press for more answers and clarity on the true impact of this breach.

Another busy set of MP advice surgeries in Slough concluded for me and my team - fighting for constituents, listening to their concerns and giving residents having to deal with authorities a strong voice.
November 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM
The impact of the #Afghan data breach and super-injunction has been far reaching - affecting countless lives.

We owe it to them to get answers, #transparency and hold those involved accountable.

#Renters' Rights Act will usher in biggest strengthening of rights in decades, ensuring millions are protected from discrimination, no-fault evictions and extortionate up-front deposits.

Fair deal for both #tenants and #landlords—that’s the difference a #Labour government makes.
November 10, 2025 at 2:03 PM
No matter what, my team and I are always willing to help.

Another #SundayMorning #Slough MP advice surgery completed, assisting many constituents with their issues and concerns.

As we gathered today for #RemembranceDay in #Slough, to commemorate all those who had made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today, we reaffirmed that #WeWillRememberThem.

Our Defence Committee inquiry into the #Afghan data breach and resettlement schemes has begun.

Shocking that a super-injunction kept us all in the dark for 2 years, but I commend #journalists for their perseverance and pursuit of transparency, fighting to make public the truth.
