According to my Instagram stories archive, I submitted my PhD thesis 3 years ago on Tuesday. Where on earth does the time go?! It feels like yesterday that I got the idea while sitting in the library procrastinating from my MA coursework.

Feeling pretty tired now (it’s surprising how quickly this happens after having a baby) but had a lovely, therapeutic afternoon on Castle Meadow campus trying to stitch!

It’s a bit bloody cold but it’s lovely to show my little girl where mama and daddy met 🥰

7.30am, baby is asleep in her moses basket and I’m crying about statistics as I write my chapter on corpus linguistics. 🥰

It’s sometimes hard to know if people are reading your work but I just saw that our edited collection, Critical Approaches to Polycrisis, already has been accessed 3,334 times on the Palgrave website!

3 years have flown by and I still reflect on my 11 years at Nottingham with fondness. I’m not sure if I’ll stay in HE after maternity leave, but I’ve had a wonderful time since I began at UoN as a fresher in 2014 and I’ll always be grateful to the place and the people there. 🤍

Took my little girl to see where mama studied today. Feels like a lifetime ago I was a child looking up at the Trent building clock wondering what the building was. 🥰
