@thebhp.bsky.social So I’m caught up through Edwin’s PR battle with the Godwins, and one thing keeps baffling me - Flanders and Normandy are led by dukes, but they seem to be acting as independent states. Did they not answer to any kings? Or were they just so powerful they could do what they want?
