my take on all this: the folks who smuggled in signs, booed and chanted, walked out - those are the folks to watch here. they're the ones who pushed back

Thank you for your service and your protest.
We just walked out of the state of the Union. My shirt showed Trump an important message: NO KINGS LIVE HERE.

In the spirit of student protestors from the Civil Rights Movement, I’m proud to have protested and walked out with many of my colleagues. This is NOT a normal time.

@dorismatsui.bsky.social - There are many things to be done besides saying the Republicans have the majority.
Tommy Tuberville blocked military promotions for months while his party was in the minority and he can’t read or write
There’s a certain enraging doomer quality to the “there’s nothing the Democrats can do” posts and attitudes

For anyone else who needs a shot of something good.
In honor of Tom Holland and Zendaya's engagement (per TMZ etc) let's revisit the moment where the best young celebrity couple came into focus: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPCJ...

Do whatever you can do. Call. Email.Tag em on IG. Send postcards or letters. Stop by and visit your district office.

But don’t stop applying pressure.
Don't just call or email, that's easy to ignore. Send letters and postcards, all day, every day. You can buy a bunch of pre-stamped post cards from the USPS, write your grievances, and exercise your Constitutional rights to petition thy government for redress of those grievances.
Every day you don’t call your Republican Senator and tell them how you feel about the Hegseth nomination, you make it easier for them to ignore the truth.
Make it hard for them. Demand that they hold some standards.
Call ‘em.

Trump's Cabinet appointments are shocking, but part of a plan. We should be wary of shock, which excuses inaction. We have to get through the surprise and the shock to see the design and the risk.

Matt Gaetz won’t be Trump’s attorney general, but we still need to know the truth about his conduct.

The House Ethics Committee will meet tomorrow to decide whether to release its bipartisan investigation of Gaetz. If the committee refuses, the House should vote to force them to release it.
