from what i understand most of the expense is training and not inference - i.e. the bubble burst won't mean the existing (by then) models will stop working, only that new ones will not be trained (or not trained as quickly).

I tired Angband and a few forks (which were at the time the popular ones) a few times, starting in the early ‘00s - I never managed to stick to any of them for long. I never managed to figure out how to really enjoy any Angband but I did manage to enjoy DCSS!

What’s the main difference between this and vanilla? I only found references to other forks who themselves only refer to yet other forks without explaining what any of them are about…

Do both at the same time! Procrastinate on one by working on the other. Then when you abandon the magnum opus the lil’ game is still there for you to pick up.

Btw I currently have 4 games in various states of development
