Living in flash flood alley (Central Texas), I cannot agree with this strongly enough. We get people killed by trying to cross flooded low water bridges all the time (often despite flashing barricades designed to warn/prevent such dangerous actions).

Sounds like a very reasonable thing to do. I wonder if there's some critical threshold being reached with the 2k (or so) follower number. You're not the first account I follow/read that did the same thing and mentioned similar circumstances.

Read one of those exchanges (you probably know the one), and all I can think is that social media really brings out the feral in some people. What's funny is that what triggers a feral response differs greatly between Twitter and Bluesky.

They know exactly what they're doing (probably thanks to specialized training courses), but will never admit to this fact.
