let the wookiee win.
Will the national media who breathlessly talked him up during preseason ever own up to it

@bubbaprog.xyz the end of this has the cursed Football Night in San Diego crew who continues to broadcast years after the team abandoned the city

Correct!

Dear god no

Hell yeah
October 11, 2025 at 12:18 AM
The Bears lost a total of four games that year
October 5, 2025 at 6:31 AM
Your football arguments are just factually incorrect though lol
October 5, 2025 at 6:30 AM
Yes, playing what's pretty widely considering the hardest and most lynchpin position in sports.

Obviously you need a good team around you to be great, but go ahead and look at those same Colts rosters in those years where he got hurt. It's night and day!!
October 5, 2025 at 6:29 AM
If this entire argument boils down to QB Winz you guys have all lost the thread entirely.

Somehow the argument is being made with a five time MVP quarterback (the all time leader) was bad? That teams were better without him? None of you know ball apparently 😂
October 5, 2025 at 6:28 AM
Edgerrin James was on neither of his Super Bowl teams, and Marvin Harrison only played 5 games for the 2007 team, none after week 6, retiring the following year. You're so far off it's actually kind of crazy
October 5, 2025 at 6:26 AM
It's okay man, stick to urban planning takes, those seem well thought through unlike this inanity
October 5, 2025 at 6:20 AM
He won MVP five separate times you doofus 😂
October 5, 2025 at 6:16 AM
Lmao incredible ratio of words to demonstration of extent to which you don't know ball here

Griffin's definition of fascism as "palingenetic ultranationalism" (which is obviously not uncontested) focuses on three required cores to constitute fascism, namely a myth of rebirth, ultra-nationalism, and a myth of decadence (quite literally, "Make America Great Again").
September 27, 2025 at 1:08 AM
Griffin was interested in the concept of "generic fascism", which is what you're getting after - what defines fascism generically? And among academics, that usually reduces to a "fascist minimum", or as Griffin describes it, those minimum conditions a group must meet to be considered fascist
September 27, 2025 at 1:04 AM
Yes, when you earlier state missing items like "Mass party, hypercentralized government, complete control of all social movements, revolutionary and totalistic ideology", you are being mechanistic in your definition.

I know you're an academic, and this is an academically contested definition
September 27, 2025 at 1:02 AM
Tom, I think you're being far too definitionally mechanistic here (and I say this as someone who reads you regularly and is often in accord) - having done some coursework on fascism, I think Roger Griffin's "palingenetic ultranationalism" definition was the most compelling, and it clearly fits here

No it's a Peacock exclusive, although NBC 7 San Diego has their own weird (and very sad after the Chargers left) postgame show with former NFL guys to fill time until the nightly news

My "The Bends" take never fails to get people furious . . . BUT AS AN ALBUM BEING EVALUATED AS A WHOLE LISTENED THROUGH ALBUM IT'S HARD TO ARGUE OKAY
August 18, 2025 at 3:11 AM
That's . . . . optimistic

I was completely unaware of this extension - thanks for sharing it!

Easily your worst take, and I say this as someone who used to walk over and buy $5 scalped tickets a few blocks from Petco frequently when they were basically trotting out a AAA team.

It's much more fun to watch a team that is in the hunt - you just aren't that big of a fan of the team!
