Thank you. I suspected it was fake because if it was real, it would be a big deal in the climate change community.

On the other hand….

Also, I appreciate your work.

Not sure if this is published yet.

It’s the old head in the sand response.

About ten years ago, I read an article by an MIT climate scientist who warned that if we failed to make substantial cuts in carbon emissions, the 2030s would bring global panic as crop yields fall and access to potable water declines.

If COP conferences were effective at cutting carbon emissions, we’d be on the brink of a mini–ice age by now.

I think it’s time to define a new type of a hurricane, given how climate change is supercharging these Category 5 storms. We should call them “tornaricanes,” derived from the Latin word tornare—the root of “tornado.”

Just imagine what this graphic will show ten years from now.

Maybe you’re right, we don’t need a global center on climate change to counter disinformation.

Now let’s turn to the gun industry. For generations, it has relied on disinformation to convince the public that safety depends on owning a firearm—that without one, families would be defenseless against crime. Even Sandy Hook wasn’t enough to shift their thinking. Disinformation works.

Agree, their purpose is now to delay actions by highlighting economic costs and hardships and green-washing fossil fuel fuels. And it’s working too. The public or policymakers believe the solutions are too expensive/unreliable, or that the science is uncertain because of disinformation.

That’s why climate scientists, NGOs, and related organizations need a dedicated communication arm staffed with full-time professionals. The key is to actively counter disinformation and strategically use AI to amplify accurate, science-based messaging.

The fossil fuel industry and its allies have mounted a massive disinformation campaign designed to confuse the public and downplay the dangers of inaction. Most Americans and Europeans now recognize climate change as a threat—just not one serious enough to influence how they vote.
November 13, 2025 at 7:53 PM
I guess the fossil fuel industry spends millions every year spreading climate change disinformation on social media, paying influencers to polish its image, and funding reports that greenwash carbon emissions for the news media knowing that these efforts are a waste of money.

I read your book on Kindle. Scared the hell out of me with information I didn’t know about. Very worried about my grandchildren’s future lives.

I’m not blaming them! They, by their profession, are poorly equipped to fight organized disinformation.

Stopping climate change has become a battle of communication. Unfortunately, the fossil fuel industry is winning that battle with ease, as if taking candy from a baby. It’s time to counter disinformation by an organized response.
