The infiltrator’s name is John Williams.

To learn what he revealed about the paramilitary movement — and how a mole managed to become a senior leader in a major American militia — read the full story here: www.propublica.org/article/ap3-...
A Mole Infiltrated the Highest Ranks of American Militias. This Is What He Found.
Outraged by the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, a wilderness survival trainer spent years undercover climbing the ranks of right-wing militias. He didn’t tell police or the FBI. He didn’t tell family or friends....

I love this…

Although Vice President Kamala Harris is directing her motivational words to young people across the country, a lot of us not so young folks need to hear this too. 🤚🏽

The whole tunnel under the Atlantic from NYC to London idea has been around since the 1960s. I'm sick of Elon Musk getting high and then claiming to "come up" with ideas that are actually decades old. He's such a parasite.

What dreadful timing when I was finally losing weight. I'm going to have to double my daily walk from 4 miles to 8.

"What did you do during the rise of fascism, Grandpa?"

"I wrote column after column about how the victims of the fascism were annoying to me personally."
Nothing makes me feel more pessimistic about the state of the country than the refusal of political pundits to understand the difference between Democrats' actual positions and bad-faith Republican lies about their positions.

Be skeptical of those proposing instant solutions — especially when they involve making vulnerable people even more vulnerable.

We can still support each other. We can help support the Trans community, the BIPOC communities, women, and immigrants with our own actions.

Take some time in the coming days to do something kind for yourself. There are still silver linings. I'm not giving up, and neither should you.

I think that Democratic voters should be thinking in the long-term. I know it isn't a pleasant notion, but improving the country isn't an 18, 24, or 48 month project. It is more like an 18, 24, 48 year project. We have to be open to that.

I think we should also work to get people to care about the country as a whole. Many people understandably focus more on household and local community issues. But I think there is an opportunity to show those folks all the reasons they should care about the rest of America.

We need to start focusing more on local and state politics. State legislatures matter a lot if we want to amend the constitution to do things like codify abortion rights and get rid of the electoral college. But that doesn't mean we should give up at the federal level either.

There is no point assigning blame. A lot of things happened that were out of our control. Inflation, hurricanes, terrorism and war. Now, more than ever, is the time for unity. Though there are lessons to be drawn from this experience.

i'm very tired of reading these people whose basic stance is that they refuse to take ownership of the choices they make. "sanctimonious liberals" aren't making you do shit.
Opinion: I'm a non-MAGA conservative. Sanctimonious liberals make me want to vote Trump.
Kamala Harris and her fellow liberals are starting to sound a lot like Democrats did in 2016, and it's a huge turnoff to voters like me.

It sounds like the participants haven't seen any improvement but also haven't gotten worse — itself an important finding! But the project has been delayed due to funding cuts and they're still analyzing the data. The researcher is not "admitting" that she's covering up negative results.

This is egregious even by the standards of the NYT.

There's no evidence that these results were delayed due to politics, this is an entire story built on an out-of-context gotcha quote gathered by the paper's in-house anti-trans activist.

Why are people freaking out today? All this panic over ONE shitty jobs report? I hate the media. They are the ones who will actually trigger a recession with their click-driven hyperbole.
