Another thing: if a system that you were taught to follow your whole life has never worked for you before, it won’t magically start working now. Design your life around YOUR needs. If storing clothes in a dresser means they get dumped on the bed forever—put them in baskets!

This concept was introduced to me as "run the dishwasher twice" and was an important part of my executive functioning recovery as well as my path to self-acceptance.
