50 years closed: a history of the Ardee branch line
The railway line to Ardee opened in 1896, closed to passengers in the 1930s but stayed open for goods and special excursion trains and railtours until 1975.

We hope you all enjoyed the day. Incidentally, this was the 10th operation for our little group since we started three years ago. And as our plans are concerned, this is still only just the beginning...

As you can imagine, transporting these locomotives is not cheap, nor is their restoration. So we’ve decided to help them out by commissioning some special keyrings, all proceeds from these will be donated directly to the ITG to help them in their efforts.
