I think it should be "Abilities granted by types or keywords provide the color identity of associated rules entry"
They Keyword is just a shortcut to not have to print it on every card. For all purposes outside color identity it has this text. Same deal with the weird basics clause

Yeah, there is an argument to be made for The Deans along the hybrid lines.
They are very distinctly "OR" cards, not a dual color card, but due to the nature of flip we have locked them out of the 99.

And I think when you translate kitchen finks to a legend, it makes more sense, at least to me.
This can be a fully functioning mono-green or mono-white commander deck. But it can go in neither. That is not true of any other Selesnya color identity legend, its unique to hybrid mana.

Could they not enforce at least a "The art will go into the standard card frame"
I feel like a rather large portion of the problem with this art (for me at least) is that the placement of names and rules text is not considered at all. Abandoning full art would help.

And maybe Toph specifically you dont like, but the vast majority of these don't have some important aspect at the very tip top of the art.

I think thats certainly true for SOME of the scene cards because of the art itself, but you don't think the frame templating applied to the stills would improve them?

The full art is really rad, but man do the various bending ascensions looks pretty bad on their own.
Very similar issue to the Nazgul mace. Wish they made alternate arts for these.

Saw this thing digging through scryfall for this discussion and like... This is insanely cool? Like a fair Underworld breach with reasonable hoops for spell slingers, but also repeatable. Or just value-town double any spell every turn. And its only 1$?!?

This was the other example I was thinking of where it could have just been "Returning a spell from graveyard to hand" if that was the logic. Especially given its the same colors doing it at the same tier.

Yeah, that was what I thought looking through the guide. Pretty clearly in the "cast spells from your graveyard" section, though saw it in some other spots.
But in the blurb at the top he straight up says the line that threw me off. 🤷

Blue is also very much the color of stealing ANY type of permanent on top of spells, and since Jetsam only hits oppo's GYs it still feels reasonable to be blue?
