This is a deviation from Project 2025, which endorsed PEPFAR as a model for foreign aid. Have to wonder about potential contributions from RFK Jr's AIDS denialism and colossal vindictiveness toward Tony Fauci, who was involved in the program's creation.

Not sure how much of a thread of hope this may represent for the many millions who depend on PEPFAR, but the extreme right wing Project 2025 - which is clearly underway - appears to still favor the program overall.
