Mycobacteria are difficult, slow organisms. They hide everywhere and don't grow easily in the lab.
They also mimic other diseases, so before you realise you're dealing with TB...
The video seems...simplistic.
(Fun fact: a mycobacterium is responsible for leprosy too)

Mycobacteria are difficult, slow organisms. They hide everywhere and don't grow easily in the lab.
They also mimic other diseases, so before you realise you're dealing with TB...
