Sometimes I just like to look at my bookshelf.

I know I should be editing but a friend got me my very first fountain pen and I'm busy playing with it.

Sometimes I hate editing. Progress has been slow the last couple of weeks. But at least there is progress.

B&N May be a big box store, but never underestimate the influence of the book sellers that work there. My wife makes sure our favorite local indie authors are well represented. Can you spot the four @cheriepriest.com books at the Issaquah store?

Reading The Drowning House by @cheriepriest.com. What do you call southern gothic that takes place in the modern northwest? Also, not sure what's scarier, the haunted house-wreck or the terribly accurate and depressing descriptions of getting older.

But such is the human mind that it betrays us at the worst times. It was still great to meet @sgj.bsky.social. I'm excited to read this beautiful flip book and I just love that it's a flip book. If you haven't read his books yet, you really need to. Start with Buffalo Hunter Hunter or Mongrels.

So it was last night when I got to meet @sgj.bsky.social. (I love this photo because Stephen looks rightfully wary of me). I was so nervous I talked about the thing I told myself I wouldn't (my dad growing up on a reservation) and forgot to ask the questions I meant to ask.

Another lap around the sun. I put this print by Caravaggio, in my office. The painting depicts Jerome as a life long scholar with a skull to remind us of our mortality. For all its flaws, I've sought to constantly better my mind and as long as God blesses me to be in this rock, I intend to continue.

My TBR has been out of control this year, but I'm finally getting to the latest @nickharkaway.com. Seemed like an appropriate summer vacation read.

I would like to thank @sgj.bsky.social for coming to Seattle on my birthday next month. No he's not coming because it's my birthday, but I'm going to pretend that he is. Happy birthday to me!

Just got the next two books set in The Salvage Crew universe. @yudhanjaya.bsky.social is a unique voice in the sci-fi space. If you like thought provoking, hard sci-fi, check these out. They're all standalone books set in the same universe.

Sleeper Beach is not available in the US, but my UK version showed up today. @harkaway.bsky.social has never written a sequel* until now. I'm thrilled he decided to continue expanding the world of Titanium Noir and can't wait to read this.
