I'm a huge AI enthusiast- mostly in the area of business process automation, or freeing up people doing menial, repetitive jobs to do more important things.

I HATE art generators and the slop produced by Gen-AI systems as much as the next guy. But lobbing all AI into the same boat is just stupid.

That is to say, this little part here.

I'm pretty sure you don't hate the bot who plays against you in Starcraft, your phone's GPS, e-mail's spam filter, CO2 and air-quality sensors, patient vital-signs monitors, etc

That's all AI, and you're putting it all under the same umbrella...

Sorry, I'm as against the soulless invasion of GenAI into the arts as the next person but thinking this is... the 'end for generative ai' is naive at best. This is a cancer we birthed, and carry it to the decimation of humanity will be our curse.
