Much of the hand wringing, imo, is over a critic explicitly saying they are judging the moral fabric of a piece of art because of the tools used to create it and it’s making some folks feel uncomfortable and shamed. The people who feel that way should sit with that feeling.

"I disagree about knocking the game so many stars, seemingly exclusively due to the use of generative AI." Terrific, that's called reasonable disagreement on the merits of the argument being made. If a game has bad optimization, do we knock it a star? Two stars? Three?

Do we ever *fully* know the full story behind a game's development? Of course not. Might this reviewer give another game a good score, if the use of generative AI wasn't disclosed? Absolutely. But it was disclosed. It's on the table. They drew a line. You're allowed to disagree.

"Let's assume the author's issue is that generative AI is used instead of hiring human actors." Exactly. It's normal to apply your personal ethics to the media you engage with. It's also clearly drawn by the critic, allowing you to easily disagree. That's a good review.

There's NG+ charm builds that basically makes combat so much more of a strategic give and take compared to how it is at the start. Still a little janky, but when you have a full sanity meter and a few related charms you can...

look at what this leadership did with oversight powers of SCOTUS in the middle of multiple devastating scandals for the conservatives. look at the half assed impeachments and half-assed oversight during the teens.
