It's so transparent when guys like this are working on a map that only shows the US (and then Canada stuff gets filled in later), because how is a connection to Europe higher-priority than a connection between Buffalo and Toronto?

Common in the tropics, especially in places without consistent AC. The last place I lived in in Florida had ones with insulation on the edge.

Oh yeah, this is horrifying but not uncommon. Starch-based coating is one reason but if the devices are outside and slightly warm, ants will form a nest there.

FL actually has very strict building codes, especially post-Andrew. It's the only state where it's effectively illegal to build light wood frame SFH. New build stuff has to withstand at least 150MPH winds, which is the latest in a series of ratchets over the past 30 years.
