Horrendous and sticky. Had a similar experience straining quince for jelly but the material (a nylon curtain) held.

Remarked to my French husband that I used to listen to a radio programme with conversations between a ventriloquist Peter Brough & his puppet Archie Andrews ‘Educating Archie’. He laughed so much, not believing such an entertainment series could exist! It went on nevertheless for nearly 10 years.

Fra-merican! From one of my grandchildren in Oregon at the moment. He thought his French grandfather would like it!

Chestnuts were a staple food in this area of the Limousin. They were stored in ‘clédiers’.

Calmed down here in the Limousin but yesterday and Tuesday were horrendous.

Shall miss the huge choice of loose fruit & vegetables here in France. This lettuce is one of several available varieties.

The joys of country living! We have had escaped local Limousine cows trotting en masse on our little D road in front of the house & neighbours rallying to stop them venturing on to a dangerous road nearby until the farmer rounds them up. Last night a bat circled the landing as we went to bed. 🦇
