We’re teaching our kiddo to refer to all adults as Auntie or Uncle as a way to show respect and care for our community so I’m not surprised to hear that some white people don’t understand the practice. It certainly tracks.

oh my god. first of all, that's not Katie Wilson's campaign, it's an unrelated group led by Black and brown Seattleites that supports progressive causes and candidates. Second, that isn't "darkening"—if anything, they could be accused of turning the knob on "Trump orange"

When I was pregnant, even just a small cold completely wiped me out. Without OTC medications, I would not be able to keep my job. Which is one of the many awful goals here.

NEW: In an investigation for @realchangenews.bsky.social, I found that Seattle’s UCT storage program rarely returns belongings collected at sweeps to homeless people. Only 1 in 15 instances, or 7% of the time, led to property going back to its original owners. Most was disposed of after 70 days.

I want to once again reiterate what I said earlier. The reason the vast majority of Democratic and so-called centrist elites have acquiesced over and over again is that they are COMPLICIT. Because they actually know that direct confrontation is how you defeat fascists and choose not to do it.
Certainly looks like we scared the President away from Chicago. Fighting like hell works.

We didn't stop them, but we slowed them down. They got hundreds of us, but we kept them from getting hundreds more, and it wasn't violence or graffiti or insults that did the job, it was regular people getting involved. It was my neighbor the speech therapist, it was my friend the life-coach. 8/
