It used to drive me mad when a person in a couple would add up the expense of a night out (etc) for two people and complain about the cost, but never take into account that they had two incomes to cover this cost.

It was unbelievably stressful and upsetting and made the first few days of parenthood quite miserable. As soon as we switched to formula there was a transformation, and my baby was and continues to be (now age 9!) the healthiest person I’ve ever met.

What??? Why is there a limit on baby formula?!
I wasn’t able to b’feed and got zero support and information the whole way through, from prenatal classes to nurses actually seeing my baby hungry. Not one healthcare professional talked about formula as a viable, normal option.

Agreed! I grew up there and can confirm no one has ever called it that. The truth is Stoneybatter is already a very catchy name; it would be hard to top it. The only real alternative I’ve seen is sometimes people shortening it to The Batter.

I’ve tried to be a matchmaker a few times but the friends never got on board! I did introduce two friends who later married though. Bring back matchmakers, I say!

Nightmare! Our local bus often just doesn’t turn up when the app says it’s due. You can’t plan for that.

Had this exact thought yesterday when I suddenly glimpsed an enormous golden moon between buildings from a Berlin train. I tried to absorb the image instead!

I think they can temporarily cause confusion and, given the speed at which they can be shared, plus squinting at tiny videos on phone screens, that could be enough to cause at least a bit of chaos. Equivalent to unsubstantiated rumours. People might still remember it even if it’s soon discredited.
