Unter dem Themenschwerpunkt „Webscapes“ präsentiert die siebte Ausgabe des Recorded-Sound-Festivals eine Auswahl elektronischer Audioproduktionen, die das digitale Raumgefüge des Internets akustisch vermessen und seine Musikalität erkunden. Auf der Bühne I des FFT entsteht eine akusmatische Raum-Klang-Umgebung, die weitgehend auf visuelle Reize verzichtet und die Besucher*innen einlädt, sich ganz auf das Hören zu konzentrieren. Poetic homage and booming whispers JukeBoxx NewMusic Award 2024 for Sylvia Hinz For the tenth time since 2013, the Christoph and Stephan Kaske Foundation and neue musikzeitung have announced the JukeBoxx NewMusic Award. The €4,000 prize is aimed at composers and artists in the field of contemporary classical music and media art. A video production is required in which acoustic and visual levels are linked and relate to each other. This year's JukeBoxx NewMusic Award in the amount of 4,000 euros goes to media artist Sylvia Hinz for her work ‘in dialogue with Francesca Woodman - gegenüber 1 / flüstern’. The jury, consisting of Minas Borboudakis (composer), Konstantia Gourzi (composer, conductor), Manuela Hartel (media and performance artist), Jörg Lohner (filmmaker/Die Bildmischer) and Andreas Kolb (editor-in-chief of neue musikzeitung), explained their choice as follows: ‘A poetic, consistent and meaningful work and a very beautiful homage to Francesca Woodman and her mirror theme. The coherent, dense composition harmonises perfectly with the video. The photographic, static-looking video convincingly quotes F. Woodman as a source of inspiration.’ Sylvia Hinz is a recorder player specialising in contemporary music and improvisation. She performs solo programmes and concerts with ensembles, orchestras and also in unusual formations, and cooperates on an interdisciplinary basis with artists from other disciplines; composers Mathias Spahlinger, Violeta Dinescu, Zeynep Gedizlioglu, Jeanne Artemis, Matthias Kaul and Katia Tchemberdji have written pieces for her. Her most recent interdisciplinary works are in dialogue with the art of Ana Mendieta and Francesca Woodman, and the phenomenon of optical and geological caustics.
