I've noticed some farmers in Cornwall planting Cockspur in wildflower margins in their fields.

Just before I moved from Kent I found it growing on the shingle at Dungeness, new to the area, so it’s spreading fast

Have a look at webidguides.com/_templates/g... which is an excellent resource.

Me neither, though it looks suspiciously hairy. I'd need to see the flower side on to work out which it was along with the basal leaves (if you can find them).

Thank you, it is edited though to sharpen it up a bit.

I saw someone posted a hybrid Primrose in flower too, but can't remember where now. Plants like Ivy Lvd Speedwell, Lesser Celandine and Lord and Ladies are all beginning to show leaves now here.

No, though there were several fungi around, but nothing spectacular. I was just updating monad records for plant species.

Bouncing around in the wind though, so not pin sharp unfortunately.

We also have Common Ragwort and Marsh Ragwort around our stations, so I always check the leaves closely.

Quite commonly naturalised here in Cornwall, but nowhere near as much as SE Ireland where there are lots of bushes lining the roads in rural areas.

It's a "no idea" from me. Veronica chamaedrys also has these and both Thymus species.

That's late (or early). Nice find.

It's rare in Cornwall (common in Kent though), but I did find a patch outside a lorry haulage yard, so I guess lorries disperse them too. Narrow-leaved Ragwort, also very rare here was found at Bodmin Parkway railway station last year.
