You could come check out Franquemont University (abbysyarns.com/webshop/inde...) we have great classes and a great community. And no $100 spindles required… start with just a stick! I’ve gone back through Spinning 1-4 several times and pick up something new each go! 🧶

That’s a good wheel, too! I couldn’t believe I let myself sell my Lendrum (to a new spinner) but I put the Starling up against everything I own, and it matches or improves on them all.. with less space and more capacity

I’ve been fortunate enough to be studying Andean-style backstrap weaving at “Franquemont University” online with Abby Franquemont and a bunch of amazing volunteer “adjunct professors”. The yarn is plied VERY far beyond ply stasis to make it more abrasion-resistant.

I started it August 26th, but I wasn’t particularly project monogamous over the following month 😂

Did you count your hands? Pretty sure a solid hand-made plying ball is the best thing around!
