I bought an amazing kit from Nest Embirdery… and I want so many more! It’s so easy to follow even an absolute beginner (like me) can turn out something awesome 🕷️🧶

🧶I had some October vibes, so I’m weaving jack-o-lanterns! I started with jakaku sisan swirls on the side for a misty-ghostly feel, but then I figured spiders were much more apropos!

Many commentators say that vigilante groups are never the answer. But they clearly don't know about the masked Ecuadorian trio named “Acción Ortográfica Quito,” who roam the streets at night with a singular purpose: to correct all the spelling and grammar mistakes they find in graffiti.

Finished weaving another band last night. I love all the different motifs I was able to try out. My handspun made specifically for Andean-backstrap style weaving. Learning this is still my happy place right now. 🧶

a tip for people shopping on etsy: do a quick google search for the shop name before you buy, a lot of them have their own non-etsy storefronts they aren't allowed to advertise on etsy that they get a higher cut of profit from. they're pretty often cheaper too

I spun up this HipStrings fiber on a spur-of-the moment impulse, and it was glorious! 🧶

People ask if it’s worth coming to the Cusco area of Peru during rainy season so I made this quick video of clips and photos taken during rainy season to give a sense of what it’s often like.

Enjoy!
Is it worth visiting the Cusco area in the rainy season?

Pretty happy with finishing this band (woven Andean-backstrap style with pumac maqin and mayo q’enko wacaq ñawi patterns). Totally handmade with handspun yarn, some of which I also dyed, and every part of the loom (basically sticks, string, and me) as well! 🧶
