Did not expect one of the best paragraphs I’d read about baseball would come from an Irish newspaper

@ttscoff.bsky.social I just got the notice about Marked 3. I’ve gone all in on Obsidian but it doesn’t do export well. Most of my writing is academic (to docx and scan with Bookends). So… how well does Marked 3 play with Obsidian.

If Harry weren’t already on the outs with the royals, wearing a Dodgers’ cap would be more than enough. #bluejays

Is this for real?
Missiles launching [your kingdom come], soldiers marching [your will be done], enemy combatants getting vaporized [on earth], war crimes being committed [as it is in heaven].

Yeah, this is blasphemy.

Anyone in the @obsidian.md world used Obsidian for family genealogy record keeping? Any advice would be appreciated!

@mikeschmitz.bsky.social Hi Mike: I'm looking for a workflow that allows me to scan handwritten notes captured with swiftscan to my Obsidian inbox via Hazel. The problem is that swiftscan only captures them to iCloud drive and Hazel doesn't play well with iCloud. I remember something you profiled...

People are like "is the Pope left wing or right wing?" and I hate to break it to you but you cannot place a Pope's politics onto a simple line like that. In fact, the kind of space onto which you can plot the politics of a Pope requires a degree in Quantum Physics to even begin to understand.

@wilnerness.bsky.social Really enjoyed Alan Rodan. I wonder how a MiLB team balances serving a MLB team with rehab assignments and development on one hand and putting a competitive product on the field on the other. Or maybe that’s not an issue and they simply serve the MLB master.

I spoke on a panel about food security a couple years ago and was yelled down by the other panelists for suggesting that groceries stores bear some responsibility for price gouging: www.cbc.ca/news/busines...

Jeff Bezos never wanted this cartoon to become public.

He killed it, and as a result, pulitzer prize editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes quit.

Make sure everyone sees this cartoon.

@goodacre.bsky.social just looking at Clifton Black’s new book on the Synoptics and aghast that after dismissing Augustine and Griesbach and explaining Markan priority he goes right to the four source hypothesis. No consideration of two gospels with Markan priority. Disappointing.

@goodacre.bsky.social Hi Mark: I'm *finally* letting go of "From Jesus to Christ: The First Christians" in my Jesus and the Gospels course. Do you know any documentary that is similar in scope but more current and accessible for undergrads?

@mikeschmitz.bsky.social just listening to the last Focused and very “convicted”. We have an anxious nine year-old (with ADHD to boot) who got an iPad during Covid and we are very concerned about dialing down his consumption. The barn door has been opened. How do I get the horses back in?

@brianzahnd.bsky.social I’m finally getting to the “Charismatic Revival Fury” podcast and find it utterly compelling. Have you written anything on it?

@wilnerness.bsky.social I just heard Bobcat losing it over the Blue Jays, not offering Joey V a chance to retire in front of the crowd at Roger’s Centre. Do you think that was ever on the cards and Joey just said, “no thanks?”

@wilnerness.bsky.social Wonderful episode on Tom Cheek. From 1977 on he was definitely my “voice of summer.” as I was listening, I wondered whether there might be an archive somewhere of his calls—ordinary calls, not just the famous ones like “touch em all, Joe.”
