PL likely to be briefing hard on this: game isn't at threat but their model is. Less vulnerable than France, but given the dependence of the PL on its huge TV deal they are paranoid.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're also quietly lobbying govt about VPN bans too

Prob 5-5-0 right now
November 8, 2025 at 4:58 PM
Did feel a bit negative, but...

Looks like Casey benched as Swansea revert to a back four against Ipswich at home.

I saw it coming, but not ideal
November 8, 2025 at 1:57 PM
My pet theory is that jwp slagged him off in the forest players WhatsApp group and someone passed that to Nuno
November 8, 2025 at 1:53 PM
Got subbed off 10 minutes after a formation change.

Not sure whether they will keep a back 5 for the weekend because they're at home
November 6, 2025 at 11:59 AM
3rd start in a row for Casey tonight
November 5, 2025 at 7:00 PM
Harsh
November 4, 2025 at 11:39 AM
Also the fact that both are prone to switching off. Harder to do when you're on the wrong side.

Kilman used to play RCB - in a back 3 - at Wolves
November 3, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Messed that up: should be towards the middle not towards the outside in this case 😕
November 3, 2025 at 3:47 PM
I think the some of the logicis based on how CB pressing has evolved. Players now tend to press from an angle in order to steer the CB to pass a certain way, often towards the outside (and into a trap)

But inverted CBs can step away from such pressing on their preferred foot and so break that press
November 3, 2025 at 3:45 PM
Probably looking to change passing angles so that we don't get funnelled into pressing traps
November 2, 2025 at 3:03 PM
Mayers probably cover at LB. He played LCB for the u21s a fair bit and isn't shy to charge forward in possession.

I think we'll be looking to get Summerville going at Krafth. Going narrow against Tonali-Guimares-Joelinton going to be a tough day.

Important for our wingers to go outside their fb

Or get badly injured and get nothing.

He'd be off on a free if we went down so I doubt he'll care that much if it doesn't work out
November 2, 2025 at 1:03 PM
Well, it's not insane so an improvement on the last two...
November 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM
But 2.5 years at 150k/week 😋 I'd like more of that malpractice from my agent, thanks
November 2, 2025 at 12:57 PM
Moyes famously ran out of patience with him after he got a stupid booking against Leverkusen ruled him out of the second leg
November 2, 2025 at 12:55 PM
Can has been injured, I think. Was back in their squad on Friday.

Edson not strong enough for the PL. Reckless but weak
November 2, 2025 at 12:36 PM
Good luck with that. We'll need it...
November 2, 2025 at 12:35 PM
He's only made 3 starts this season and hasn't featured at all in the last two games.

It's not big wages that are the problem: it's big fees with no chance of getting anything like what we paid back. Combining the two is absolute poison and we've done that a fair bit as well
November 2, 2025 at 12:33 PM
Kill em. Kill em all
November 2, 2025 at 12:23 PM
We might be able to bribe Maguire with a fat 2.5 year deal to force ManU to sell him in Jan. I get the feeling they don't want to extend.

Probably a year too long but better 7.5m in dead wages in 27-28 than a 60m+ loss in the champo next season
November 2, 2025 at 12:20 PM
The problem is who would take Todibo? Maybe Nice if he takes a pay cut? Outside shot is that someone at Ineos still likes him and he gets loaned to ManU.

Casey-Mavro-Kilman could work, I feel. But I think we'll go for experience at CB, CM and ST if we can. Maguire, Ugarte, McBurnie types
