I definitely share that frustration.

Relevantly, in part I belatedly got stuck into this mess myself seeing an IPCC lead author climate scientist being repeatedly hassled after talks etc by climate deniers. After 20+ years he continues to contribute any way possible, from local radio to CoPs. #Hero

Nope, that's on you.

Good luck to you too.

Nowhere in that Al Gore presentation does he "criticise the IPCC and COP at COP and inside IPCC reports".
By being at CoP & depending on the work of physical & impact climate scientists Al Gore is doing exactly what you denigrate.

You are inconsistent. Contrary to your attack here against IPCC and climate scientists, you strongly recommend Al Gore and his (very good) presentation at the CoP. Gore has repeatedly appeared at CoPs and his presentations depend on IPCC and climate scientists.
CoP engagement ≠ process endorsement

So you don't want discussion, you just want to spout off anonymously?
Got it.

Can sympathise with view that CoP process is extremely poor vs. vested-interest power, but without IPCC and CoP process there would be no sci/pol basis to set or assess Paris-agreed 1.5ºC equitable (non-)achievement.
In this sense 1.5C is NOT dead: it is the only 🌍 agreed gauge for accountability.

Yes.
A couple more reasons:
➡️ CO2-only global warming continues strongly correlated with global economic activity – an emergent human-climate system quality.
➡️ Multi-GHG forcing remains close to worst-case, as per Hansen – CH4 & N2O increases adding to CO2.

Hard to square with improved projections.

10 years ago, Day 4 at Paris #CoP21 featured @aliceclimate.bsky.social & others on cutting aviation & shipping emissions.
Best not by buying offsets: "rather like hopefully buying papal letters of indulgence, though in that case there is more chance of them working”.

Flashback to Paris #CoP21 in Post-3, 2015-12-01:
"The science came through loud and clear.
Mitigation strongly reduces risk.
The message from the evidence for policy is very simple.
Act now. Don’t delay."

[10 years on, delay continues, so radical action required.]

Back to #CoP21. Post-2, 2015-12-01:
"Enda Kenny’s boast of transitioning to a low carbon economy is parading an ever-higher carbon economy down a Paris runway clad in a laughably transparent gown of PR-spun gossamer.
If only it was just a laughing matter."
