Blender has made me feel the same kind of fright I felt opening Eclipse for the first time. Learned how to select a PNG as a texture, at least! Starting from somewhere

Zeztz's first episode was pretty sweet, feels like it could get Kuuga-ish? Ended up enjoying the suit design more than I expected, too. The Daft Punk Alive 2007 lines were cool!

Building this thing did also make me strangely introspective, so I took a sec to jot down some quick thoughts I had about it. Read on below the fold!

Very successful MIT Swapfest today, found some real sick finds. A chiptune doujin arranged album on a famicom cart and a full set of FF8 discs for running on Windows! Very eager to check it all out over this next week

I'm 3 for 4 in T.H White's Arthur collection, finished off "The Ill-Made Knight" this morning! Absolutely loved how Lancelot is both parts the shining example of chivalry yet also so human and so frail. Poor old Lance deserved his miracle, and I'm glad he got it.

Decided to start watching Gquuux now that it's almost over, and ep 2 was such a great way to do a throwback. The purple-yellow explosion, the near shot-for-shot entry into Side 7, the way the beam saber "bends" on a slash, the mid episode eye catches that go *da dunn*.... SHAAA!

It's all so fun

Been reading T.H. White's "Once and Future King," and felt inspired to do some writing in the arthurian theme. Been a while since I wrote fiction, so the urge to endlessly revise is there, but I'm proud enough for putting it out there! Give it a go:

Finished Kamen Rider Kuuga this afternoon, first time watching a KR show! I didn't expect it to lean so far into the horror/slasher vibe, but really enjoyed it as a B tier horror movie. I think they could cut out most of the middle without losing much, but the last ~10 episodes were super sweet.

👍

Xenoblade X has a reputation of being an odd duck out, deservedly.

When I finished it recently, I had some (lots) of thoughts about it that I wanted to get down. So I did! If you have the time, you should check out my long form ramblings on my time with the game

Heading into the epilogue final boss of Xenoblade X. Of course, I had to make my Skells themed after the classic mechs. From top left clockwise:
KOS-MOS, Shatter, All Engine and Sailor V!

Just finished "Mountains Beyond Mountains" by Tracey Kidder. I've read one of his earlier works-- "Soul of a New Machine", highly recommend-- and equally enjoyed this one. I think the NYT blurb on the front cover describes it well:

"Inspiring, disturbing, daring and completely absorbing."
