Also lighter (and according to Letterboxd, the least "popular" horror movie I like) is Encounters of the Spooky Kind, a Sammo Hung movie where the main character (played by Hung) gets tricked into spending a night in a haunted temple. Came across it during a jiangshi movie marathon, and loved it

Moving to much lighter territory, One Cut of the Dead is an incredibly charming horror/comedy about a zombie film that ends up getting attacked by actual zombies. It goes in a direction I won't spoil, but it's such a fun watch, and perfect Halloween material.

Kotoko is a totally paranoia-inducing about a mother dealing with terrifying hallucinations. It's one of the more restrained Shinya Tsukamoto films, but that isn't saying much. Very anxiety-inducing.

The Wolf House (La Casa Lobo) is a really technically-impressive stop-motion film utilizing an entire house as its set. About a girl who escapes a religious colony, it's very dreamlike and surreal, and easily one of my favorite horror movies of all time.
