Yes and the show is still great! I went by the studio when SCMS was in Seattle recently

A+ soundtrack though

I’m a big fan of KEXP DJ John Richards (check him out mornings if you haven’t) and heard him this week he likely wouldn’t be have become a DJ without this movie, so that’s a big vote for it in my book

I remember the soundtrack! MARS must be holding out for the big bucks.

Also, I enjoyed this movie much more than my recent rewatching of Singles, which did not age well for me.

Also honestly very hard for me to watch this movie from a critical distance—so much of that time.

Honestly I was struck that he was such a mess and Laney so much more together, so much more of a grownup.

But now we know that he and Laney surely got a divorce and she’s with a Michael now but the spark’s still there and flares up in a painful bittersweet way

The Before movies, Boyhood, and that episode of Reservation Dogs show how far Troy has come

I had a strong antipathy for Ethan Hawke at the time, thus also avoiding Before Sunrise, probably due to the prevalence of such characters on my own college scene as well. But now I know that Troy has been through a lot by now.

This movie got me to subscribe to the Criterion streaming service, which currently features a Winona collection.

Still team Troy here. But geez, Winona Forever!

I saw it, and I really liked it. I think I may end my film criticism course next semester with that and Slacker. Plus, the Real World-style mangling of her documentary definitely merits a mention in my book.

And now I have a name for my retirement coffee shop: Den of Slack.
