I know what you’re saying and can think of a number of movies to support your theory but The Crossing Guard, to me, showed he was still willing to show up when he cared enough.

How was Redacted?

Yeah, they did lose something when they went bigger. Once you have them start saving the world it’s hard to make it must watch, but with lower stakes. But there was absolutely a more… young xfiles horror movie vibe that they lost with it which is a shame.

I remember the show getting some juice back by the end of season 11. But I watched 6-10 even though i found them awful because I knew I would at least get one great Ben Edlund penned comedy episode a season. If you’re not enjoying even those I would not trust my tastes are to your tastes.

6-10 is the worst of it if memory serves (it may not serve), but i remember watching the last few seasons occasionally asking myself, “is this getting good again?!!” Which was absolutely not the case in the first half of the post Kripke years.

Not sure but I would wager they are members of the legion of doom and/or the masters of evil.

In his defense he does have a long negative history with skull masks.
