we passed 1%, but then the account got flagged as spam. I guess I see it, but surely the humans of bsky will see the niche genius of this account upon appeal!

Ever since I heard that a ride-share leasing company bought all of the Fisker Ocean's, I've had fun spotting them constantly around the city.
Fisker went bankrupt in 2024, but a leasing company bought the entire inventory of Ocean EVs for use as ride-share cars in New York.

There are 2,054 registered with the TLC currently, and for some reason, I feel compelled to try to find them all!

Why New York City Has a Fleet of New EVs From a Dead Carmaker
After EV startup Fisker went under, a leasing company bought $45 million worth of Ocean SUVs to rent them out to NYC ride-hailing drivers. What could go wrong?

$202 of those were my dollars over the last 2.5 years! Hellgate is the least hellish media I consume, and I'm so glad it's thriving
Yes, the financial situation out there is bleak, especially for local news.

At @hellgatenyc.com, we've found something that works—and everyone who subscribes is a part of that.

Thank you for our first million that goes to local journalism, and here's to the next.

I'm really enjoying Volts branching out aggressively beyond climate guests with this and the Cory Doctorow episode.

Climate problems are society problems are human problems
Today on Volts: @chrislhayes.bsky.social has a new book out on the corrosive effects of the modern attention economy. We dig deep into what attention is, how it works, why it's so easy to steal, where industry is looking for new supplies, & whether democratic deliberation can survive. Great stuff.

David is just speaking for himself, but I think this detachment is extremely common, and I'm very curious how that plays out
I've been thinking a lot about this @anandwrites.bsky.social post. In the first Trump term, I cared, a lot, constantly. I was extremely invested. And it was *excruciating*. I just don't think I can do that for another four years -- it would kill me. I've got to detach, dissociate a little bit.
How to live under Trump II
What will be your posture in a second Trump era? Resistance? Retreating into the local? Returning to your craft?
