How does autumn make me nostalgic for autumn. It's still here!?!

I would like someone to explain F1 to me. I don't understand sports unless I see someone genuinely enjoying it

I'm siphoning cable from my in laws and that means I can watch the premier league again after a decade. I don't know anyone on the pitch

Don't want to see any locals over here swooning over mamdani's win when they didn't vote for Chloe Brown when we had that chance

Love this Indian Women's Cricket team but there's nothing duller than post game interviews and women aren't going to improve that objective truth

Watched a baseball after several years. Couldn't have picked a duller match. Tomorrow we try again

British people using the phrase "oh my days" is a little jolt of joy for me every time. It's so pure

do we have a digital public services community anymore? If so, I'm very disconnected.

I'm just catching up on the morning show and reliving the start of the pandemic in season 2 has been a doozy. Phew, I'm sweating

Prefacing that I didn't read the article as I don't have a subscription -- I sort of agree with the post.

Taking this one example away for not being the perfect application of salary transparency is not the step forward for normalizing and openness.
ICYMI I wrote out why the Sunshine list is good & a rare window into income & class. If it can't be expanded or the threshold lowered, we should keep it as is. It's helped reveal "inequities in hiring practices, promotion and compensation" & is hard date in the haze of class (un)consciousness.
Shawn Micallef: Ontario’s Sunshine List reveals who makes $100,000 and up. Here’s why that salary threshold should be zero
Ontario’s Sunshine List is a useful way to see whose jobs we value and whose we don’t as a society.

This is a good article to explain why I hover around here like a ghost doing nothing and feeling nothing but wanting more
lol this is actually a great story about context collapse… ironically saddled with a headline almost guaranteed to *cause* it. Ignore the headline, take a look at what @joshgondelman.bsky.social @mattielubchansky.com (and me!) have to say about normies coming to Bluesky & discovering online culture.

Bluesky has been a safe haven for users fleeing X and Threads. But while there’s less hate, there’s also fewer lolz.

Key point in the story: Canada border security turned her to the US to be detained. Canada is complicit

LMAO the "bold", "visionaries" of Build Canada removed their names from the website. Back to the WhatsApp group where you belong

While I know Jeff Richmond exists and love his work, in my mind Tina Fey is married to Tim Meadows and I like it that way

Now that Cobra Kai has wrapped up, I can safely say that it is the greatest show of the Netflix era. The greatest show of the Netflix era.

this is the truth. dig into any level to find that the cost of "running a government like a business" is the biggest cost of government
the idea that these tech guys are opposed to "government waste" is so completely fucking ridiculous. they feast on government waste. DOD budgets are a bloated mess. the pentagon has failed 7 straight audits. the big beneficiaries are tech companies providing defense services.

Listening to Christiana Mbakwe from Trevor Noah's podcast casually tearing into Simon Sinek's milquetoast criticism of capitalism was a delight of this week

All I want for Christmas is a tonally appropriate Sister Act prequel about why Mother Superior came to owe the detective a favour. Starring Keenan Thompson as cop and Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Maggie Smith

Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke is calling for the end of Canada’s public postal service because its workers have gone on strike.

The company’s leaders are increasingly pushing extreme right-wing positions in Canada. Gutting Canada Post would effectively end delivery in many rural and remote communities.

I'm looking forward to a time when we examine the platform less and just use it in whatever way you think social media ought to be
It has been very interesting to watch as Bluesky has overcome the Worst Person Problem (theories on how it did it are welcome) while, at the same time, the Trump Administration builds the world's most powerful Worst Person Problem AT SPEED. </>
