If you read Goodman Games' statement on why they chose to do this... they're pretty invested in making sure the original kickstarter backers get refunded and Judges Guild will make no money from this.

Once I stopped worrying about it, I realized it was actually sufficient.

In centuries past, it was normal to wake up after 3-4 hours, putter about for ~1hr and go back to sleep.
