I would like it to slow down until data centers don't create an energy crunch paid for by residential consumers, bleed entire communities dry of water resources, or contribute to global warming. There's no current ethical way to use AI even before answering questions on their actual usefulness.

That's the tragic thing isn't it; if there is ever a Democratic administration again, they will piously govern strictly within the traditional limits, do nothing to prevent future governments going rogue, and then the next Republican administration will do it all over again.

This is just so much more stupid than the last time. Note, the last time was very stupid.
