Super Mario Bros. I watched my older brother struggling with it and thought "I could do better". I couldn't and became determined to change that. I would hop down the couch with each jump then pause and move back again like a typewriter.

Theres 101 reasons the Saturn ended up like it did, and 1001 reasons the PlayStation was as successful as it was.
Games and system specs are in fact, many of these reasons.
I love the Saturn and it's library but what happened to it and Sega isn't some mystery. The got outplayed at their own game.

There is no reason on games and system specs the Saturn shouldn’t have been as successful as the PS1 it’s confusing to this day
The Sega Saturn is 30 years old in North America in May. It's a system with so much more to offer than tales of how not to launch a console, or its ties are into the eventual downfall of Sega as a hardware manufacturer. The Saturn has (great) games, and history, and we'll explore both all this month

As someone who worked on plug n plays its exciting to learn they are being preserved. Fun Fact: SPD had a finished game key expansion that let you play as the Shadow and Omega Rangers. Shadow's animations were modeled after Anakin from Revenge of the Sith. I never learned why it was wasn't released.
Remember that mame has support for a lot of different plug and play consoles. so you can play a lot of 16-bit games released years after the snes and genesis died out, like this Power Rangers SPD.
