TRUTH: The massive fire that destroyed Altadena was not a “forest fire.” The fire had nothing to do with forest management or water policy.

Three main reasons the fire exploded:

1. Drought-like conditions
2. Very low relative humidity
3. Santa Ana winds reaching 100 mph

SoCal friends:

Many animal shelters are overwhelmed from people dropping off beloved pets they can't take with them as they flee. Please consider donating and fostering. Pasadena Humane is one such org. Contact your local animal orgs to see if they need help.

"Maranatha Baptist Church will be a little quieter on Sundays, but President Carter will never be far away – buried alongside Rosalynn next to a willow tree down the road, his memory calling all of us to heed our better angels."

“Yesterday I visited my son's school and I saw a bright colored bench in the yard. I asked if it was new.

He said to me, ′′no, that's the ‘friend’s bench.’ When someone is down, they'll sit there so others find them."
