With these kind of xkcds it's always fun to try and identify where the examples shift from real to fantastical.

I suspect in this case it's the ketch-rigged gaff (number 7) that is the first fictional one.

"Pomme de terre granate" is literally not a thing that exists, as opposed to " pomme granate" (in various spellings) so read a fucking book yourself asshole.

No, it's "apple of Granate" or something like that. "Pomme" means "apple" which is basic French and you should have known that before making bad claimes like these.

I think it's more that they don't really believe in accountability, but only see it as a way to attack others that don't do as they like.

They can't conceive of genuine accountability, only of disingenuous usages. As with everything else.

/3 I am no longer inclined to spend time tinkering with the machinery of bigotry. It would be trivially easy to explain under a rules-based system how SCOTUS could come out one way on race in admissions and another in race in detentions. But it's still not worth the effort or the implied respect.

Is this paraphrasing that SCOTUS Judge you told us about, Ken? The one who at some point decided any case regarding the death penalty was equally bullshit and he would no longer split hairs about it?

An exposure analysis would say hey people having VLC is a source of vulnerability because the parsers are not exactly strong and easy to exploit.

And I would come back and tell them people are literally directly installing malware on their computers. They run the EXE. Is that good enough for you?

A podcast under emergent conditions though? 😁

Like the "Chase ATM glitch" going around on TikTok a year ago or so that was just check fraud.

Not even sparkling check fraud, just plain old check fraud. Depositing false checks and withdrawing in the intermediary.

Not a dig on Ken or is his career, btw. I love you Ken please keep making podcasts and writing articles!

Not humanity. Americans decided to be racist about it. Most other countries either embrace it or dgaf one way or the other.

(Java has had the URI class now for ages and it behaves way better than the cursed URL class, so not sure if it's even still a concern, but yeah).

No, because the JDK has (used to have) a never-expiring DNS lookup cache.

So, you know, two wrongs make a slightly less wrong. 😅
