Not really (except when something truly bad happens like the Cutro shipwreck). But it has to be said that Frontex's role in Italy is not as big as it is in Greece, for example. Both Italy's Coast Guard and the Finance police are very involved in SAR operations. Not sure how it is in Spain/Portugal

Not really (except when something truly bad happens like the Cutro shipwreck). But it has to be said that Frontex's role in Italy is not as big as it is in Greece, for example. Both Italy's Coast Guard and the Finance police are very involved in SAR operations. Not sure how it is in Spain/Portugal
I think these refers to regional units (Tallinn for Scandinavian states and Prague for the group of countries that are mentioned). I haven't looked at the full restructured chart but I expect there are or will be other units that work to support the southern Mediterranean member states.

The question isn’t "why does Signal use AWS?" It’s to look at the infrastructural requirements of any global, real-time, mass comms platform and ask how it is that we got to a place where there’s no realistic alternative to AWS and the other hyperscalers. 3/
