My very first computer, a Tandy 1000, while it supported "Tandy-Color" (semi-equivalent to EGA graphics, I believe), I only had a CGA monitor, so I learned to play this perfect game in shades of CMYK. What fond, fond memories.

That's gratifying to read. Though I should also take the moment to reflect and try to be less dismissive and more productive in my urging. I've too often smelled an aroma of the pulpit in my voice when I get on a roll, and that upsets me. I'm too quick to that level, online, given size constraints.

But I do honestly think elevating the circus happening amongst the vocal elite on the far right is dangerous for distracting us from the real intentional harm upcoming. If I've offended anyone with that opinion, I am happy to talk it out.

As long as we agree the circus is a distraction meant to keep our eyes away from the real harm. We should try not to amplify the noise, lest we lose the signal. Solidarity! 🖖

I think you're underestimating how important this election was for the quietly evil people who actually won. These public spats will not slow down the Heritage Foundation. They've been working for this day for decades.

I got to meet him during one of his tours for Timequake that got somehow mischeduled (and the store didn't promote it, an employee was a friend) so he and I chatted for a few minutes over tea. Astonishing human. Most surreal event of my 17 year old life.

Let's not forget the recent resurgence of the slur attacking mental ability. These are all symptoms of a society encouraging competition and discouraging empathy. Dark days ahead, my friend. Call out those who engage in this for what they are: ignorant.

In a capitalist society, "I'm gonna leave this irreplaceable thing out in the box with wheels outside to where I cannot easily get from where I will be entirely incapacitated from sleep" is just asking for trouble, locked or not.

I can see how that would be entertaining! Even with the first redesign of the Klingons, for example, I wasn't confused as a teenager when they suddenly had ridges on their foreheads. I assumed they made an artistic change to make them more alien. I didn't need any in-story explanation at all! 🤣

Some people really do believe that the production budget of Star Trek in the 60s really had nothing to do with what we saw on screen. Moreover, they hedge on believing the episodes to be historical documents, rather than a group of people applying creativity to an idea.
