Yesterday was #NationalTextilesDay. Preoccupied with a cemetery association meeting and visitors, I missed it. But that’s okay, bc at my house every day is Textiles Day!❤️❤️❤️

This turned out so cute!❤️
It started as a vintage embroidered hanging pocket or pouch—embroiderer unknown. I trimmed it, pieced a background, and embellished with vintage tatted trim and old red buttons.

There’s a reasonable amount of knitting in L. Frank Baum’s 14 books about the land of Oz. Don’t recall crochet being mentioned. Hmm. Guess I’ll have to reread them all to see if I missed it. Oh darn.

One of my goals for 2025 is regularly to upload knit/crochet items to the Center for Knit and Crochet’s Community Collection. My first of the year is the amusing Armadillo Wrap. It includes 3 photos, a story and other information. Link: digital.centerforknitandcrochet.org/items/show/4....

The cute town of Shamrock turned out to be my crochet destination for last week’s trip to the TX Panhandle. I found this filet crochet Liberty Bell panel, updated to 1776-1941, from the last one I found which read 1776-1918. It is destined to be a wall hanging and to be uploaded to the…

Voter registration tables can look
dull, so in 2019 I made a quilt called “What to Do in a Democracy” to brighten our Comanche County TX Dems voter reg table. “What to Do in a Democracy” was juried into the 50 Years of Great Quilts exhibit at the International Quilt Festival earlier this month.
